People here are obviously obsessed with TC. I took a substantial reduction in TC to work on stuff I love in a much less toxic environment.
Curious if any others have stopped chasing TC; or if not, how much shit you'll put up with in order to put more money in your bank account.

A) If you don’t like your manager, interview.
B) If you’re low on TC for your YOE, interview.
C) If you suck at interviews, Leetcode.
D) If you’re well paid and happy, coast.
Look at the surveys on hours, lots of Blind people claim to be putting in 30-40 hours a week, and Google usually gets a nod not only for pay and brand but also the opportunity for WLB.
And sometimes you’re lucky, you’re happy with your career growth and your team, and not actually putting up with any shit, but you post on Blind for the hell of it.
TC : 215k / 1 YOE
But what about lateral moves. Keep a technical role and grow TC over tima and jumping ship to places you like, with out the need of moving to managerial roles
Dealing with dumba$$ managers and dirty politics is part of daily job for techies. What do you mean by toxic anyway?
