Which has better opportunities in entry level ? Asking for a friend. Stackoverflow says JavaScript, my grandpa professor says Java.
Modern JavaScript is pretty dope. With JavaScript / type script you can move to front end or backend or hybrid mobile. With java you can go with backend or mobile.
Modern JS >>>>>
they are not same? JavaScript is a scripting version of Java
No. They are not even related at all.
The name “JavaScript” was a Netscape marketing tactic.
Web wins. Python would be best backend language to learn with all the ML stuff going on. JS for all web world.
I know right ? But I barely see Django-python positions compare to the popular MEAN stack
Angular? Who uses angular?
Java needs to die already
Did you use Java or JS for leetcode/ interview ?
Depends on the role. For FE Eng I would use JS
You will have to wear glasses
Different languages useful for different kind of space. If you are going for app development including web backend, JavaScript anytime. Java mainly for beefier long running backend stuff where you need higher performance and stability but the performance requirements are not as high as like C++.
It depends what you want work to on. JavaScript is used mainly for consumer facing applications which is what I personally avoid. Both are great choices so I think you already have a lot of sense. If you said Go or JavaScript I would have vomited in my mouth.
I started with JavaScript, and still think it was a mistake. I wouldn't chose between the two you've listed. I'd go with C++ only because it aligns well with the theory, while JavaScript, Java, C# etc hide a lot of details and implementation under the sugar coat, so you don't get to understand details. If time is not a strict constraint of course.
Up to you. I’ve done both at large companies. JavaScript for 3 years at Cisco on their major software project DNAC and now Java at amazon we also leverage jsp a bit. I think learning JavaScript is easier, and I prefer it. However learning java and becoming an expert will probably give you a better foundation.
Javascript learning easier? Questionable I found Java much easier to learn and still struggle with Javascript
If you're fucking up with JavaScript and claiming that Jawa is easier, then you've got someone going on.
