hey guys. starting a new role with 85k tc in sf next week and I’m kinda sad about it. cant believe they went so low.. I do need the experience though so maybe it’s not all bad. probably gonna try to find a new role in 6 months or so :/

please make me feel better in the comments lool. as you can tell ive had a few drinks

role: associate product manager
company: n/a

#tc #comp #money

update: my first day was today and it was great! they dont have a lot of the perks that I’m used to but that’s a small price to pay for this invaluable experience. thank you all for your contributions to the post!

OMG, you're literally everything that's wrong with our (I said OUR, as in MY) generation. Over focused on only the money, while overlooking the big picture. No loyalty to your company, your co-workers, or your team, or even your own growth and long-term personal future. Very short-sighted. I would never want to work alongside you. Never

That you're already looking to job hop in a few months before you've even begun tells me everything I need to know about you. God forbid your resume should ever hit my desk, I would toss it faster than the market dropped this week

Second this. I've had a lot of brilliant folks starting with that TC and getting beyond the 200k bar within 3-5 years. Have realistic expectations though; play the long game. And don't wait too much if you feel you deserve a promotion/raise and it's not coming. At the beginning of your career, 1-2 short hops are tolerated with proper justification (more scope/responsibilities/challenges)...

You have google on your resume now. Nobody needs to know it was a contract to hire. Just say your contract finished and you didn’t like the team you were on for bulcrap x reasons that make you look good and make google look fine.
