Both roles in Security.

L4 at Robinhood (remote)

L3 Google (Bay area)

The team and the work at Robinhood seems much more exciting but I'm also concerned about the lack of stability, being on a STEM OPT.

Google seems to have more internal mobility and brand name.

My goal is to work a jobs for ~2 years and then go to grad school. Longer term goal is running my own startup. Feel like Robinhood will allow me to pick up more skills aligned to the startup world.

Also concerned that once Robinhood stock bounces back it can result in a lot of $$

Pls help thnx.

  • Please do not join Robinhood, we are on fire now. We don't know how many more rounds of Layoffs are there. They just put blame on Eng and ICs, ideally the C-team should be fired. Interestingly non of C-team was impacted.

Dude, Robinhood is getting smoked and you’ll definitely be on the chopping block for the next layoff given legal fees for retaining your talent. Go with a financially more stable company for now.

  • Given your OPT situation, you’re better off with Google. You should secure your immigration status in the US first before you make any risky career moves.

The problem with RH is that they lost trust. That’s difficult to repair.

I joined Snap at a low point and got rich, but I feel RH’s case is different.

If I was you I’d join the G.

  • It’s a stellar security team at RH. I personally know most of them. But it’s a sinking ship. Make a wise choice
