Expecting an offer for L6 google soon. Based on my research target bonus for L6 is 20%. Help me understand this please

1) let’s say I join in June 2022, do I get that target bonus of 20% in 2022? If so when? If not, then do I get it directly in 2023?

2) can target bonus ever be be more? Or less? What drives it being more or less? Is it performance as an individual or company’s performance?

Just accepted an L6 offer from Google. From what I understand - you would get a bonus in 2022. I was also told that bonus is often more than 20%. I think it could be less if you’re joining in June and just have 6 months but that’s up to managers discretion.

It's prorated in January 2023 based on # of months worked in 2022. 20% bonus is if you hit CME. Any rating above results in a higher %

  It's bad if you are L3. For above meets is okay, but you would be passed on when interesting opportunities arise, etc.
  
  L4 is terminal level at Google which means getting meets all the time is okay
