So, since Walmart is expanding in India like crazy. Now, this sounds good, but the way recruiters are shortlisting candidate's profile is crazy, like there is no background check at all. I've had my issues with Walmart but I had been ignoring since it didn't matter much and let's be honest there is no perfect workplace culture company out there (if there is, please do let me know). For the last 2 weeks a bunch of us have been interviewing people and we literally couldn't shortlist a single candidate, it's not like we are asking them Hard LC questions, we just ask basic DS questions, we've been spending 5 hours per week interviewing only to see people being rejected. Not sure if its the budget problem with Walmart or some other reason but the interviewing panel has been demotivated due to this. I've seriously started to wonder why did I join this company seems like they don't care about the quality of engineers being hired, they just want to get the job done. Has anyone else in Walmart or any other company faced this? Any big good companies out there also doing this?

I did not like the culture at all and I left within an year. They definitely need better leaders and better managers.
But in the core it is a merchant and not a tech company, they apply the same to the people they hire. Going for cheaper profiles even if they are not from stellar backgrounds, not doing anything to retain exceptional talent.
