Hi folks, I have interviewed for the position of test engineer in Juniper. Position is in Routing BU, JDI. Any inputs on this BU would be helpful. How is the BU performing?? Edit: Please evaluate this offer. Tc: 190k Yoe 6 Role: SE 4 Current Tc: 165k Reason for moving - kind of stagnating work in current job and LR uncertainties in our BU. Don't have any other offer for now to choose from. But still debating whether to join or stay back, since Juniper is not performing great at this point. Your suggestions would be helpful for me to take a decision.
Have the tc discussion soon
I would recommend against taking this offer.
But for that the OP needs to have a better offer.
If you are Indian then you’ll be safe there. Are you going in Security, Switching, Cloud BU?
What grade? Salary comp offered. Feel free to ping me
U can also ask this in tech Career section. Might get more replies.
Unless you consider yourself one of the worst software guy out in the bay area, dont join!! Juniper is easily the worst company in bay area right now. Lots of toxicity in almost every team/department. Really awful management at the top, lots of politics. Every software guy that I know of still staying back...is due to some visa issue or else he/she is really under confident of the coding skills. Please stay away from this company for your own sake!
OP, do you have a job in Cisco or did you get laid off by any chance. If you are still in Cisco and your job is relatively safe, I would strongly recommend staying away from Juniper. I have several friends in Juniper and the general consensus is that it is a shit hole. Juniper is slowly and steadily getting irrelevant in the networking industry. If you bored of Cisco, you could try in Arista. The only you can be successful in Juniper is if you good at ass licking. There is person named Anand Athreya (aka Andy) who is running a mafia inside Juniper. If you end up in Juniper, find a way to get entry into that gang and your career will skyrocket.
Don’t join Juniper! It’s a shitty company. I have been there for 4+ years and have witnessed it’s decline first hand. Unfortunately, all executive are incompetent and proudly hire their friends without any interview process. People who knew the product are long gone (~90%) and those remaining are just waiting for GC or taking it easy, milking the company! There are more reporters (noise makers) than workers (people who actually do the work). Unless your desperate don’t join, meaning don’t have a job or have serious visa issues.
Well I can tell you one thing, your take home will become 175ish from 190k if you are thinking you will get 100 % of promised bonus. Also there will be none to very less refreshers. My suggestion is to keep looking
Hey you are going to have to be a bit more specific, all of engineering falls under JDI.
It's Routing BU
