it's probably lower however your cost of living is soooooo low.
That's what I did - moved from North east to Charlotte. I managed to maintain my salary from previous job which is KILLER down hear because of the awesome cost of living. And it is BOOMING here (I'm in Charlotte - not Raleigh - but still booming for different industries).
By the way - our company (LPL Financial) is hiring like a mother fucker right now.
Durham is awesome and very trendy now. Wish I could relocate there.
