My friend got laid off last June 4 (last paycheck ) and is looking for new jobs/ h1b visa transfers and other solutions . I got few questions and clarifications. 1. How many days can the person be on H1 and stay in US? 2.Any contacts for consultancy / contact positions to run paycheck to stay back in USA until she finds next opportunity ? 3.WhT are other ways to hold back the visa status ? 4. What are the alternatives you guys would suggest ? 5. Can anyone refer her for the openings in their company for interview? Being on b1/b2 u need lottery to enter H1b ?
Once you got picked by H1B lottery in the past, it's valid for the rest of ur life so no need for lottery again. But using B1/B2 for job hunting is illegal. You have to convince USCIS the purpose of your B1/B2 visa. Otherwise you'll be denied.
If H1 was only picked up and there was no approval/rejection, can we still use it for transfer? Won’t the employer revoke the H1? Trying to understand how we can use the original H1 next time?
PM me for referral.
You can ask your friend to look at hioscar careers. If she’s interested, feel free to PM me and I am happy to send in a referral. We are always hiring. WLB and pay are pretty good.
Consequence: leave the US by Aug 3 Solution: plane ticket

4.It's easy to get trapped and do wrong things in this situation, avoid shortcuts
You can stay 60 days once u r not on payroll. If u want to stay back you can switch to b1/b2 visa for some time and keep looking for new jobs.
You cannot look for jobs while on B1
