After negotiations I got this much: 97k base 12 bonus 10 relocation To live anywhere in the west Where should I go? Was thinking Phoenix, Denver and Portland. Phoenix has scorpions and tarantulas so I’m kinda turned away by that. Denver has a google office I could network my way into. And I know nothing about Portland except that there’s a lot of rain there and I’m trying to escape it. Can’t have everything but Denver also has a great NBA team unlike Phoenix dead ass.
Anywhere? What about Boise or Spokane? Much better COL
My client is in Boise and as a person of color who goes there weekly: no.
Just reading this it sounds like you’re leaning Denver, it’s a cool spot, I’d do it
Reno. Nevada is income tax free state. Maximize your income. There's also Vegas but Reno is near Lake Tahoe!
Never been to Denver, but I like Portland! I was in Phoenix in December last year and found it to be very boring. Can't imagine how terrible it will be there during summer. Scottsdale was okay!
Honestly Choose the cheapest place to live where 100k can take the u the farthest imho.
Do you really have to be so cheap?
Since I travel Monday through Thursday and company expenses food for that time period, I can essentially buy groceries on Thursday and make em last until Sunday. Can probably spend 1300-1500 a month on rent and still save almost 2000 a month
Denver for sure. Avoid Portland. It's a bum infested shit hole. Phoenix is good only for Winters.
