I don’t know what type of jobs I should apply for. I will earn a computer engineering degree in 3 months. I have no clue how the next 1-2 years of my life will planned out. I want to be a person that works with inventors of all disciplines. I want a job that but foster and nourish my intrinsic skills and ability. I do not want to apply to common place jobs like my pairs. (Software programming, etc) I spend my time reading books on studying people from the slightest facial expressions to the slight shift in tonality in their words. I spend my time planning the days and weeks when I wake up, but can’t seem to plan a messily 1 year in advance. After college. I’m a builder at heart, I love playing in mud getting my hands dirty. Since most of my childhood was spend watching porn😭, I was considering applying to pornhub. They will find something to do with me. I require the wisdom of every persons that has been in my shoe. I can’t turn to my dad for this because his answer will be” pick a job that pays well” His answers are too security driven. I was told to work for a big company after graduating, knowing me I require a job that stimulates my mind everyday. (I am well aware I’ll start from the bottom, cough cough excel sheet) but willing to put in the hours and time in learning all about the industry I ended up in. I’m currently an intern for ibm. The good salary I’m making for my age doesn’t get me up in the morning. So money shouldn’t be a large part in picking or finding a job. Please be as honest as possible.
You’re about to graduate in three months but don’t know what you want to do with the degree you’re about to get? Double down, get a PhD, and stick to academia.
I’m just waiting for the Green New Deal - going to get paid for being unwilling to work
You sound naive af. Perhaps take the next year as a gap/travel year and go see the world.
Sounds like game dev. It pays less and is more stressful and generally working conditions are worse but based on your description of yourself you might enjoy it
Interesting, what made you decide to recommend a game dev. I overlooked game developer.
Beware...you need to love it or you will hate it 100% it is also seen as a "luxury" to work in the industry sort of deal
