Can someone from Spotify enlighten us with what the real situation is with #joerogan ? Someone posted the NY office wants to go on strike after CEO Daniel Ek defended him in an internal meeting. #media #entertainment
Fire the crazies
Aka the coinbase apporach
The coinbase approach?
Note the crickets from Spotify. Those woke employees are gonna destroy the golden goose ....
No that isn’t true, not even close. There are some internal discussions of how to deal with content moderation and disagreements, and how employees’ opinions should be heard going forward. But we as an employee base understand the big picture and the concept of business decisions primarily driving content policy. It’s impossible in this growing business that everyone will be happy at all times, but the consensus idea is Spotify can continue learning from this and keep working on how to be more transparent and fair. But in general it’s all good here, small bumps in the road. Also - Daniel didn’t “defend” him, he simply said that we review complaints and make conscious decisions on content policy with all facets in mind. It’s never gonna be perfect but we can strive to be better. That’s the mantra and employees stand behind it.
You’re clearly not one of the employees who’s making a stink about this, but thanks for your perspective
Nope I am not - but I empathize with the group that feels wronged and have a couple close colleagues who are in that camp. I believe the issue was how senior management dealt with the dissension. People want to be heard and feel like what they say matters. I believe the powers that be have a good heart and truly care about all employees. They need to do better with the above. It’s about making the best of a really tough situation.
Lmao the strike thing is bullshit, probably some idiot that wants to fee like he's cool by lying about being in Spotify. If anything the Stockholm office should be the one protesting but noone cares. People are more pissed about the whistleblower idiot
Yes - true.
Imagine the elitist entitlement of walking on a +120k salary mid pandemic where the jobless are suffering because you’re too woke to let a comedian have a conversation on a platform that lets children listen to WAP
Well put my fellow Amazonian
Also the whistleblower is even more of an idiot for leaking it to Vice since it was founded by a dude with known right wing views. Some people are so woke they can’t read the fine print.
Imagine being so on the left that vice is too right wing for you
😂 😂
Is this still the case because my feed has been popping with articles of meetings to discuss from outright banning to content moderation to live fact checking or adding fact checks inside episodes etc.
I’m so tired of all this “fact checking” in society. Half the time I read a fact check I can prove it wrong. But why aren’t other people doing the same? WTF do we need all these fact checkers for? Why can’t people investigate their own stances without needing the confirmation bias of somebody else’s cliff notes.
Spotify needs to fire the crazies or we need to cancel spotify
You’ve become the very thing you swore to destroy!
Canceling a subscription is not cancel culture .
Spotify NYCer's should definitely go on strike. It will create job openings for some of those laid off and looking for work who are serious about their careers - the great unwoke.

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
