Joining FB: no RSU before RSU window - how to fix
Hey blind friends who joined FB I am planning to join Facebook late May or June But I just found that RSU will be granted on four windows: 2/15 5/15 8/15 and 11/15 That means I won’t get RSU for 5/20-8/15 As you know RSU is an important part of compensation. I wonder how did you fix this? Do I have to join Facebook on the specific window date? Thx
You'll get the rsu on grant date for those months No one's stealing your stock
Seems not true, grant date will be on Aug 15 if I join on 5/16. Basically it means I won’t get rsu vested 5/16-8/14
You won’t even get your grant on 8/15, because of specific. You’ll get two parts in November
Those are vesting dates. The grant is all up front… so your average tc is the same. You can bring this up as a concern to the recruiter and negotiate a higher signon? Don’t count on it though. Congrats on your offer my friend!

This. You just have to not get fired for 6 months instead of 3.
It’s prorated , I believe it’s added to your last vetting at the end of the 4th year.
At most you lose a month of rsu. What's more important is you get April's average price, which is lower than current.

Why do you lose 2 months? Everyone says the same thing and you don’t want to ack? You would either get less amount of share due to the avg price because you want to delay or get higher number of shares because you’re lucky (fb tanks)
@OP even if you join right away you still wont get 5/15 vest. FB always skips the first vest and gives more on the next vest. 1 joined 10/05, didn't get any on 11/15.
Correct, but if OP joins after 5/15 he won't get 8/15 vest, but a higher 11/15 one
Thanks @uTGi51 for your case, understand if u joined 10/5 you won’t get vest 11/5. I won’t whether you got vest btw 10/05-11/04 on 2/15? Or you just got vest of 6.5% which only covers 11/16-2/15? The way they skipped the date btw start date and first rsu start date doesn’t seem correct
What role?
Your vesting starts on 8/15/2021 and ends on 5/15/2025 period. Don't break your head (or others heads) about this. You'll get all your money at the end. For RSU grant formula - Seach Blind, you'll find tens of threads

You’d get prorated based on your joining. You won’t lose any RSUs
