Think about it. If all people managers were automated bots, there would be no bias, no office politics, no unfair performance reviews, no ass kissing, no discrimination lawsuits, no awkward 1-on-1's, no office-space-like scenarios.
We have enough data, enough processing power, enough engineering talent. Let's make it happen.

There are many tools automating the whole HR processes , I wonder why we need HRs .... similarly I think if someone builds time management & scrum tools we can say goodbye to Product Owners and Scrum Masters . Dev Managers will be the next..

This thread is just so stupid. Engineer nerd talk without any clue for social science. Engineering itself is 70% interpersonal skills vs technical. You need someone to lead the team and give sense of direction. So stop it people.

  I think you missed the point. AI will be able to give direction. If you think about it, that's mostly what managers do is say "I better tell engineer A to go talk to engineer B". How hard is that? Given some methods for tracking workers needs and capabilities then I'm sure it can be done.
