Recruiter reached out saying they will have offer available this week but asked for salary expectations. I tried to ask to clarify what target level or range, but recruiter avoided sharing. I had to do a a leveling interview so I’m not sure which band they are considering. They also asked for details of my competing offers (where it’s from and break down). Should I be disclosing all of this prior? How should I approach?
It is for a engineering pgm role. Is engineering pgm different than tpm? Should I expect different salary band.

Say that competing offers are confidential and that you cannot share them. However, do share your number upfront based on your research (make sure you inflate more than you expect). A common misconception is to wait to state your offer. Most negotiations end up anchoring towards the first number stated.

They asked me for the actual letters not just numbers btw, and they narrowly beat them.

If you float a number, they will probably give that plus 5% or something, until the number you float is too high or they think you are BSing
