Hi, This is the first time I am posting here. I need some guidance related to the onsite. I am expecting a baby soon and I just joined Wayfair. I have cleared the AWS screening interviews and I am being invited to AWS onsite. Should I go for AWS onsite also in Boston location where I am currently located? Also, I got sign on bonus (20K) with Wayfair which I need to return if I leave before an year which would be like 35K as I would get 20K in hand after taxes. Would Amazon provide any parental leaves and sign on bonus before joining? Also how much max can I expect from AWS in Boston SDE2 with 10yr experience. Not sure if more information is required. TC: 200K approx
Just wanted to congratulate you on clearing the interviews while expecting. Best of luck for the onsite.
Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. The percentage of people who get hired after the loop (onsite interviews) is very small. Amazon does do sign on @ about 50% lump sum in first paycheck and the other 50% broken up into 12 payments in year 2
I totally agree with you, but if I am not going to get any leaves then it would be an issue for me so it would be waste of time for me and Amazon as well.
https://www.amazon.jobs/en/benefits/us-benefits-and-stock They have parental leave.
But i have heard its after 1 year of employment
Clarify the parental leave with the recruiter.
Please don't go to wayfair. Do yourself a favour and join a tech company.
Can you give me some more insights why not Wayfair? I think they are moving towards a better tech stack.
They are moving toward shit. Stocks are all time low. Managers stupid.
Anyhow, wayfair is not a tech company. They call themselves a 'tech' company. All the good people are leaving.
I would stay away from both companies. But especially Wayfair!
Which company do you recommend which pays good and has good work?

Best LCOL or MCOL city?
Definitely Amazon. Wayfair stocks are performing really poor over last few months. Also Amazon is a bigger brand for sure.
