Hello, what does a SWE/SWE2 position mean when it comes to the job duty or responsibility. Does it cover a wide range of jobs titles (e.g full stack/front end/back end engineer, Android/IOS engineer, enterprise software engineer, machine learning engineer or others)?

Because I think SWE/SWE2 is a very vague concept, and the actually work content, impact and TC can vary a lot in different positions/job titles, is it correct?

Thank you.

Yes, but SWE/SWE2 can mean different job positions, right (for instance, both full stack engineer or Android/IOS engineer can be categorized as SWE/SWE2)?

Levels vary between companies, but most places use numbers that correlate back to one of a couple of salary survey companies like Radford, and if so, 1 and 2 are very low entry level ratings

In terms of job content, can both full stack engineer and Android/IOS engineer can be categorized as SWE/SWE2?

      SWE just means Software Engineer.

SWE2 is either just a salary scale #, or it is a local/private classification within a specific company.

If the former, then yes. Both are software engineers except at companies that use more specific titles.

If the latter, you would need to ask someone familiar with that specific company.
