Am I underpaid?

Mar 24 8 Comments

Been at Accenture for 6.5 years currently M2. Reading posts about people with significantly higher TCs especially in tech and considering a move to AWS or a series B startup in the product management or solutions architecture space (currently interviewing at both). Realistically what can I expect in terms of TC? I’ve given a range of ~275K TC but still seems well below others. Thoughts?

YOE: 6.5
TC: 205K - 187K base

Comparison is the enemy of happiness. Stop worrying so much about how much you make and enjoy what you make.

Wlb is important and that’s why I stayed in my previous organization for 10years. My personal learning, keep changing every 5 years. There is so much to learn and exposure is great. In my previous company, I was earning decent and was able to take care of my kid and household chores due to almost no work but at some point I became lethargic:)

Start interviewing to get offers. Salaries at this level are really only a function of what other companies are willing to pay.

~275K sounds about right for startups with this experience. Not sure about FAANG. Also what you make at Accenture is impressive in the first place. Good luck!
