tobacco is shit kills people
oil destroys the planet
pharma is corrupted and kills people

Every single point you just listed is 100% true, don't get mad because someone doesn't want to contribute to that. I turned down a Juul recruiter because I have teenage brothers who tell me every day about how bad it's gotten among their high school friends. I'm not gonna spend my life working to improve a product like that.

I make no claims of knowing about agriculture, I'm just saying it doesn't take much digging to realize that you've been fed a line if you think Daddy Tobacco is a benevolent overlord.
There is no underling backroom dealing from big tobacco since they got in trouble in 2008. The tobacco companies all make sure tobacco famers are making a profit when they buy the crop. Insurance claims increased in 2004 because if you look at the history of storms on the east coast and the weather during that time crop yields deceased by a lot. There is also a piece of history you know nothing about called the China Problem.
The Chinese government comes in about ever 5 years and runs the price up on tobacco. It artificial increases the for raw tobacco. Tobacco companies won't pay the high prices. Then tobacco farmers think that is now the market rate so they sit on product and won't sell. Then the product goes bad and they have to go to crop insurance. That is also part of the high insurance payments.
Currently only a few groups buy US tobacco. China and International Companies control the world markets and don't buy US tobacco. In the future, tobacco will no long be grown in the US because companies buy cheaper overseas product. It happens in a lot of agriculture and destroys farms.
Yes you can dig all you want and grab the data from sources that are looking at one piece. That isn't the whole story and never has been. What you are talking about are things that were true 30 years ago and the same groups play the same sad song. I challenge you go out to tobacco farms and talk to farmers and they will tell you everything you need to know.
Tobacco companies don't own farms so the money only goes to farmers in case you are implying the tobacco companies get money from insurance payments.
