I'm looking to apply to Vroom and was wondering if there were any employees here who can share their experience. Looking for insights on the culture, WLB and compensation. Thanks in advance! #vroom ----- yoe 4, tc $350k
Did you attend virtual onsite for vroom? Even they agreed for 350+ TC but 170k as base. Position: SSE
Was this for the New York location or remote?
I did not. I just had recruiter call and they mentioned 300k is fine. So, the remainder of the comp you mentioned is in stocks ?
Yes
Well, that doesn’t make the cut lol unless the stock sky rockets
I felt so interview process is not well defined. Interview mentioned there interview process is secretive 😀team does not share what’s the format of the interview process
As ppl are sending me DMs about interview process and the salary range offered. Don’t bother wasting your DMs on this company. If you are already getting FAANG salaries or working at a good company which pays you well. Don’t even bother interviewing and wasting your time on this company. If you are some who is just starting your career and don’t mind low pay then go ahead with the interview process. After 6 rounds (2 weeks) of interviews they tell me they can not offer the salary range. I am still pissed that they wasted my precious time which I can not get back 😤 .
They are talking with me about a senior engineer position for 135k. What were you applying as? I would like 150k but now that seems low from your post!

Did you end up taking the offer ? I am conserving vroom too
Ended up being rejected after the recruiter screen because I asked for $300k+. The recruiter (who was very nice) mentioned they could only pay ~$170k. I am OP btw, I just changed my name.
Lol ok. I was told 300k is a range they could work with. I am being interviewed for director of product management though
