Currently have been at Amazon for a couple of months as a new grad. So far I am not a fan of the culture and the lack of collaboration. I'm not even really learning that much because the team I am on has a heavy ops load.

I have interviews with Cloudflare and Unity setup. Would these companies be strict downgrades (since they aren't faang)? Would leaving Amazon this fast be a huge red flag on my resume? I would probably take a pay cut but I am already making more money than I really know what to do with.

The paycut would probably be down to 140k at the most.

  Only LC engineers think the bar is low. Recruiters don’t know so they still believe it’s a great place. And interview bar is irrelevant to how people view a company. What scale you worked at is what they’re going after. How easy it was to get it in doesn’t come into play

  What are some good orgs where people actually enjoy the work somewhat? Builder tools seems like it would be a good team but it's really small.

  I’m not sure what’s in Austin but a good place to look for teams is attending internal conferences or like WebDevCon. there’s also an internal slack #sde-opportunities where you can see job postings. You can always ping a HM or an SDE on a team and they’ll talk to you informally so you can see if it’s a good team. There’s a ton of opportunity to learn at Amazon. If that’s what you want, just find the right team.
