Switch from data architect to data engineer profile

I am a data/database architect with 15 yoe and want to switch as data engineer. Is it advisable to do that . Can i maintain tc while switching to different profile/companies. I dont know much of python or ETL tool. What are some good resources to prepare for? Any help is appreciated
