I am almost sure that I already had made my mind. I just want to be sure I pick some other experienced people brains here. First of all, this would be an offer with a subcontractor of a contractor at NASA. While I was expecting a pay cut (they offered less than half of what I am making), they also down leveled me to a junior position (I have 10 YOE) and talks with the recruiter have been rocky. Project is really cool, but I feel like the offer has some hurdles. Is this common on the aerospace industry? I would take tons of passion in the project to let all those yellow flags pass. Is it worth it? TC: 420k YOE: 10 #offer #tech
No experience with NASA just my guess it will get old quick and after a while the "cool factor" will fade. With that extra 200k there are a lot more adventures and excitement you can pay for.
Is 420k for the new offer?
I worked for nasa and was desperate to escape and thrilled to join Uber. Different strokes I guess...
Why were you desperate to leave?
Welcome to the aerospace industry
Pay is too low. Don’t waste your time. You will work hard and feel unappreciated then need to start your search all over again 18 months later
If you joined spacex you can stay senior and only get 25% cut and maybe less bureaucratic. But a lot more hours probably 🤠
I work the f35 program, very exciting, very cutting edge. After 5 years, I’ll tell you the subpar comp I’ve received, which has become a hallmark of the aerospace/defense industry, has certainly made working the program less compelling. TC or GTFO
Do you think is good to at least have you in your resume? I also updated the post with my TC
Do you work directly for UTC or a subcontractor?
