I have been working for 1.5yrs now at Amazon. My manager put me in PIP program with unachievable task in given time frame.

I am on h1b visa. Very frustrated and confused. Any suggestions how to handle the pressure during this period?
Any help is appreciated.

  • I’m sorry. This is the exact reason I’ll never work there. I’m not even on a visa. How do you guys handle the stress, I’ll never know.

If it is an unachievable timeframe, challenge it. The task needs to meet the bar described in the role guideline.

Take fmla and do full time preparation... I am going through the same ... I was pipped because of bs reasons aground earn trust and communication, My actually mistake was that I switched teams at the wrong time and happen to go with a very toxic, manipulative and a pathetic manager. However, the main reason was probably they got to know that I might well go on a Paternity leave soon.

Initially it was really stressful and at some point I started doubting myself but the I started preparing full time and and clearly I am getting better at interviews and hopefully I will soon get a nice offer and should be able to get out of this shit.

    My 2 cents:
1.) Get Disciplined: mark you entire day on when to do lc, sys design, applications/recruiter calls.
2.) DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT try to do more than a thing at a time ... if you are preparing then just don’t think about you work or any small task that you can pull off.
3.) Patrice mock interviews with professionals or with your friends.

Trust me there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and you will be just fine if not at a much better place in life.

Feel free to dm me ... may you have your share of luck ... TC!!!
