I gave my two weeks notice today and manager at first asked if I could stay 2 more weeks (so effectively 1 month), but my new job is starting in 3 so obviously was not gonna say yes. Manager then asked me to give a list of current projects and asked me to finish several of them within the notice period. This is my first time quitting but my understanding is that in the US giving notice is a courtesy and afterwards we should primarily focus on transferring the work (so that to maximize continuation) instead of getting squeezed out the last bit of value (which by the cold and demanding tone of manager seems like what he is doing). What do you all think? #tech

Don’t be surprised if he end up going to your new place and be your boss in the future again though.
