Seeing many got layed off today from Toast... Anyone have any insight? Sorry for those whom got layed off #layoff #severance
they are in the restaurant business after all. very unfortunate to hear
Half the staff ?? Please donโt tell me they did over zoom
Individually over zoom, 1 by 1. Best you can do right now considering.
They did. It was done 1-1 though, and I felt it was done about as well as could be done at this scale.
Bevi also. Really hard day today at Toast. Lots of really good people laid off. Not a performance based layoff at all.
Yes , one of the old coworker is laid off from toast With hiring freezes going on , not possible to help him out
Toast is toast!!
It was handled well given the circumstances. Not like the mass zoom layoffs at places like TripActions.

Quite a few senior devs (myself included) are on the market now. Good opportunities for a lot of people to get referral bonuses.๐
Did they pay any severance?
Yup I got a decent severance package (a little more than a months pay). Don't know about other departments tho.
Dm if need referral
Is Wayfair hiring? I thought they laid off a bunch of engineers like two months ago
They laid off half their staff. ezCater did the same today.
