Largely relevant for H1bs/ people on visas. Just realized that Tesla is keeping people on H1b on payroll for 2 months after layoff. This is amazing. Do any other companies do that in case of layoffs ? Do any companies do this in case of firing ? WARN is only for layoffs of > 500 people (for most big companies). What about < 500 people small layoffs or firing ?
Interesting to know about WARN. Is it only for CA ?

Up to the company. Your numbers are incorrect. See wiki link above.
What about Citibank ?
Are there any constraints on how you get to that 500 number? As in, I saw here in another post that most companies these days are doing layoffs but do that frequently and at a smaller scale to stay below 500. Can someone explain how that is possible?
500 is the company size not the number of people being laid off
500 is the lay-off size

No body cares about real last date. Payroll date matters the most
The company has to report material changes in employment duties to USCIS.
