Amazon HQ2 has publicized that Seattle is not ready for further growth. Facebook, Google, Uber, Lyft are expanding in Seattle (but not at Amazon rate) . What do you folks think Seattle Tech scene be in 5 years. Will it continue to be a great place for future employees n employers?
Don't talk about what should it be or what would u like it to be.. be practical and guess what would it be.

In addition, other macro fundamentals are really strong. Fastest growing traffic American airport for 4 straight years. Second highest traffic port on the North American West coast. U Washington CS Dept is pretty decent. I might come under fire, but economic classes are very clearly demarcated geographically - Bezos CAN get the city to make a strong executive action to push Downtown Seattle, Denny Triangle homelessness to further south to yesler way or international district. Queen Anne, CapHill east of Broadway, SLU, Fremont etc don't have the homelessness problem.
So yeah OP, Seattle as a global tech hub is not changing anytime soon.
Amazon wants more tax benefits. All the cities which got shortlisted are equally handicapped or worse as Seattle wrt what is cited in HQ2 process.
ATM all the selected cities have less tech talent available compared to Seattle - which can change over time.
For Seattle, it’s good to have diversity of companies rather than huge Amazon. So it’s a welcoming thing IMO.
