Knowing You're Leaving

I've accepted a new job offer and my start date is over a month out (cannot relocate earlier for family reasons). I'm a high performer and want to be remembered that way, but I've lost interest in my work and it's too early to give my notice. Looking for advice on how I should spend my remaining time at my current company. Ideally, I would want to contribute as I've been doing, but it requires a lot more effort now since I have no motivation to do so.

What are they gonna do if you take off more time, fire you?

Put more effort into permeating your knowledge of the business. Youā€™ll be remembered well.

This! Leave a legacy and hand off in the way you would like to have it handed off.

If you have insights others donā€™t have, you have nothing politically to lose anymore. So, buy your good favor with your peers before heading out.

Vacation

I am in nearly the same boat I canā€™t start sooner since Iā€™m relocating w family from LA right before school year end. Iā€™m basically finishing up this massive annual report on my category doing a good solid useful job on it so I can hand them something to act on before I leave. Not going to make it perfect or A++ because why bother but I still want to do a good job.

Thanks for sharing, and good luck in your new position!

Iā€™m with you too. I am supposed to give my 2 week notice a week from now, and I have a (minor) review in between. That project is shit, and an example why Iā€™m leaving in the first place. I could work hard and make it shine... but I find it hard to care and sacrifice a few evenings on that.

Documentation... it's the thing everyone appreciates (albeit mostly silently) and they'll see your name and remember you well for it after you're gone

Following as I am in the same boat. Over a month away from being able to give notice and I canā€™t be without pay for a month

Salesforce lsSn48 May 10, 2019

I gave a month notice to my last 2 jobs. Itā€™s always very appreciated if you are high performers. Better than leaving a bad last impression if you productivity goes s down.

You give a monthā€™s notice but what if they donā€™t want you for more than 2 weeks?
