I've accepted a new job offer and my start date is over a month out (cannot relocate earlier for family reasons). I'm a high performer and want to be remembered that way, but I've lost interest in my work and it's too early to give my notice. Looking for advice on how I should spend my remaining time at my current company. Ideally, I would want to contribute as I've been doing, but it requires a lot more effort now since I have no motivation to do so.
Put more effort into permeating your knowledge of the business. Youāll be remembered well.
Vacation
I am in nearly the same boat I canāt start sooner since Iām relocating w family from LA right before school year end. Iām basically finishing up this massive annual report on my category doing a good solid useful job on it so I can hand them something to act on before I leave. Not going to make it perfect or A++ because why bother but I still want to do a good job.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck in your new position!
Iām with you too. I am supposed to give my 2 week notice a week from now, and I have a (minor) review in between. That project is shit, and an example why Iām leaving in the first place. I could work hard and make it shine... but I find it hard to care and sacrifice a few evenings on that.
Yeah I totally get where you're coming from. Congrats on the new position!
I m exactly same situation, I m so frustrated about shit project, I do not even care.
Have another baby
Documentation... it's the thing everyone appreciates (albeit mostly silently) and they'll see your name and remember you well for it after you're gone
Following as I am in the same boat. Over a month away from being able to give notice and I canāt be without pay for a month
I gave a month notice to my last 2 jobs. Itās always very appreciated if you are high performers. Better than leaving a bad last impression if you productivity goes s down.
You give a monthās notice but what if they donāt want you for more than 2 weeks?
Take PTO
I would, but I just came back from a week of "vacation" I took got my onsite interviews.
What are they gonna do if you take off more time, fire you?
