Solve more problems get to L6 in year or jump ship to Meta?
Concerns to jump: rebuild trust, learn new language, tech stack, show impact, build network . Also hear WLB is pretty bad at Meta but benefits are good.
vs work on bigger scope problems and happy with wlb, managers. Although the space i am working on is not that interesting but that is fine.
I am hard working engineer, wonβt say I am smartest in the room though so it takes time to get familiar with tech stack.
I am curious to hear from folks who joined Meta as E5.
Tc 400 -same at A and M
Assume Amazon will match Meta

That being said, jumping teams is always a gamble. Shitty teams exist at every company. Also, It's possible to get E6 in a year but, most people who try for E6 get it in 2.
That bottom culture shift is the also a part that worries me a little but it must be with a lot of amazonians.
We recently changed to performance reviews once a year. I'm not sure how that affects pip. It used to be you needed to have 2 bad ratings to get a pip.
