Are you underpaid because your L1B?
My wife came on a L1B 4 years back at 180k TC. Got promoted twice - 460k+ TC now. @Amazon.
The only game is promotion. Being IC on L1 is prolly sub optimal.
I know someone who worked on a L1B for almost 5 years and was the highest paid in his department through out. Great technical skills and the hardest worker. He was then laid off in the last recession because his comp ended up being a significant cost saving. Moral of the story, it depends.
I got promoted and yet didn’t get a hike 🤷🏼♂️
my company is L1 galore and I heard they get the lowest pay band due to the fact they have no leverage, unlike H1B that can change jobs.
I know a 20yr experienced big 4 manager making lower 100s waiting for gc.
Wtf!!
Not at all. I'm one of the highest paid on my team. I don't think line managers care about your immigration status. Plus it does not take long to adjust your status and after that you are free to go your way!
Your TC and YOE?
Most likely YES, just like other people who don't change their jobs often. What's worse is when you get your transfer comp you don't have any other offer so you get what's minimum of the band for base salary. What's even worse you RSU is unchanged. So eat the shit or not?
And, they know you cant change company. So, keep eating shit :|
