I had an on-site yesterday in Seattle and was asked a LC Hard for one interview. I finished it, but maybe a typo or two. It was optimal. We did not have time for another question. Interviewer did not seem upset or annoyed.

Usually FB coding sessions asks two easy/medium questions. Do you think this session might still be a pass because of its difficulty?

They also ask behavioral questions in the coding round. Just when you’re explaining the bottom up DP, they go “Tell me about a time you fought with your manager”.

That is when you tell the interviewer "I can demonstrate a time when I beat up an interviewer for interrupting me" 😜

Yes. I was asked LC easy, then LC hard as follow up. Didn't finish it completely, I think. Still passed to onsite.

    • Nope. If you’re wondering he asked me product of array except self and find median of two sorted arrays. Finished everything with pretty good explanation besides the binary search solution for median question because I literally had 35 minutes to do both. Got rejected in a week while other friends got asked one medium they didn’t solve fully and moved on to onsite. Couldnt have really done anything better. Sometimes you just get a prick that decided you failed before the interview even starts

Sounds like your interviewer had full intention to fail you even before your interview session. Often interviews are based on random luck. There are many more companies out there. You will find one that appreciate you.

All questions were tagged in the top 10 of LC(or variations of). The hard one I hadn't done, but was able to finish. I did not get a warm-up (easy or otherwise)

How are you able to tell that it's lc hard? Are you telling me that faang companies rip questions out of leetcode directly?

@h0r4y Google has codejam where they create their own questions. Facebook has hacker cup and I assume they crest their own questions as well. Of course the patterns are same but the verbiage may vary or the question could mix up different data structures or algorithms. What's the point if the companies at top copy questions from leetcode?

Or maybe leetcode copies questions from faang and hence faang companies run out of questions

And then lintcode copies from leetcode. It's a cycle of plagiarism.
