LC premium $129 for a year - Is it worth it if not going after top companies?

LC premium is $129 for a year. Check their twitter for the source and promo code. Expires 12/2 so have to make a decision by then. I know its been asked many times but im asking again, do you think its worth it? I am poor and unemployed so i dont have $ to spend unless it is really worth it. I would be splitting it with a friend so cost would be $65 each for the year. I am not going after top tech companies either so i question if its worth it for me when there are already hundreds of questions in the free tier. Seems like the real value is seeing the company-specific questions but I am not going after those types of top companies so does it make sense for me? I just want ANY SWE job in the Bay Area where I am located. Again, I am unemployed so I have all day to do nothing but prepare for interviews. My DS&A knowledge is quite weak though. I am a long way from being ready for top companies. EDIT: I do have CTCI and EPI as well, have not worked through them yet TC: 0 (contractor) YOE: 1

There’s plenty of problems that are free.

Absolutely. You'd be surprised at the difference it makes.

What's included in the premium service?

Access to more questions, questions that are specific to companies. Explained solutions for questions sometimes.

If I’m paying for something I make sure to utilize it as much as possible to get my money’s worth. So, maybe that would be a good motivator for you.

As a result of the Sunk Cost Fallacy.

It’s not you don’t get ROI from it

That’s like two weeks worth of gym membership.

Oracle baburao Nov 27, 2019

If he says he isn’t sure about buying $65 annual subscription (even after the discount and splitting ) what makes you think he would be paying $65 for two weeks of gym membership?

Apple bogle OP Nov 27, 2019

Oracle thank you lol. Im not raking in the dough like most people on this site and my career has sucked so far so my future is uncertain. Have to be as frugal as possible for now at least. Would never spend that much on gym, would just get a regular 24 membership lol

You can consider finishing interviewbit first , try giving some interviews. It should give you alot of confidence. If after that u want to access content like company specific questions, locked questions - you can try premium.

Intel Feetcode Nov 27, 2019

You actually don't need it, there are posts online that screen shot the list of questions from each company. They update the screen shots every now and then. The only other problem is that some questions are locked behind premium, but luckily the same question can be found online at other websites. If this hassle is not worth it for you then just pay the price.

You don’t need it. Just do the free problems and be strong on the basics.

No one needs it because there are plenty of free problems BUT I found that having it makes practicing a lot easier. I got it 2 years ago on BF as well and got an offer a few months later. The questions grouped by company were pretty spot on. You can always asked for a pro-rated refund later (which I did). I'm getting it again this year because I'm prepping for interviews again.
