I had an interview recently with LM for a full stack position. It was 100% in the office and I would have a fairly long commute. I told them I had another offer coming that was full remote with a TC of 150k. They said they couldn't get me close to that because I didnt have the required amount of experience for that salary range lol I have 4 years of experience. I sent my recruiter several full remote positions with their salary ranges on them, thank you CO law, to show them what theyre competing against. LM came back with 105k with 3% bonus lol. That's even less than my current salary. During my interview the manager said it was increasingly difficult to acquire talent with the correct clearance. I tried to tell him what other companies are hiring at to which he didnt really believe me.
There is such a massive drop in age of employees in defense with more than a few years of experience. Everyone gets out to make more money, they just dont get it. I wish them the best trying to find some sucker to take that offer. They didnt even try to come back with a better offer.

You can get $300-500k comp as a good FS engineer, but you'd rather waste your time on some boomer defense shit.

Defense will always be defense. They are all about seniority over performance. It's basically welfare for middle class Americans
Iโm looking to move to tech too. I havenโt started LC prep though.
