Had onsite interviews at Waymo and expecting an offer. But the mixed reviews abt Waymo over here on blind is bothering me quite a lot. Wanted to understand the culture of the company, pros/cons of program mgmt at waymo, and mobility options (between alphabet companies, particularly google and international locations within waymo). this is for a business program management role. Amazon isnt biting me rt now, but waymo seems like an interesting oppurtunity given the novelty of the product... thoughts?

Mobility is easy in all alphabet companies, however you will still have to interview for the role most likely, but some leeway will be given as an alphabet employee, but it isn’t a walk in the park either. Networking internally would help a lot.
Compared to which competitors? The only public company that is attempting self driving cars is TESLA, and they have yet to demonstrate self driving cars that aren’t highway miles (the easiest of self driving cars scenarios to solve). Even then, there are still casualties on their end from not noticing highway barriers.
Edit: Waymo is the only self driving car company currently monetized in the world (in Arizona). California laws are not allowing to monetize self driving cars in California though, so that is a road block we’re facing. Also, Waymo has another revenue stream from selling its lidar technology which is cutting edge atm (had to be made in house since available lidar son the market were not good enough for the requirements of SDC technology).
I also wanted to understand my mobility options to google or other alphabet companies from waymo
Lastly, what is the difference between google levelling, waymo levelling and amazon levelling... i m a 3yr old L6 ppl manager at amazon... what level at waymo should i calibrate to?
