Hi everyone,
Debating jumping from my current relatively stable company to a 10 person startup.
ive worked with them before - good leadership, good product (needs a better UI though), and they have a few couple million dollar gov/intelligence contracts. they are a known, small entity in my immediate area of expertise.
self funded until now but raising this winter.
id be one of their earliest leadership hires to further build manage pre and post sales teams. in a verbal offer, theyre offering between 2.5 - 1.5% equity, 150k base and 80k commissions.
the equity is WAY above what i have in current company, base is a little above and commissions way above.
the only downside is risk - small company, just finding their feet - this would be my earliest and riskiest startup to date. ive got money in the bank from a past exit to cover my ass for some time if needbe.
thoughts?

And not to mention this is my biggest step into leadership to date. Always been a mid level manager, never been a director or had a seat at the table so to speak.
