Wife looking for MLE/DS co-op starting Jan 2021 (3-8 months)
At present, She is a graduate student in DS, northeastern university, seattle campus.
Previously she did her bachelor's and masters in mathematics from Delhi University, india.
Prior to masters in usa, she tried a startup in blogging space for 2 years but failed and before that worked for 3 years in internet + education domain in india as a data analyst plus maths SME. So she has business sense and she is not restricted to just education industry.
Over the summer, she developed an AI enabled QnA chatbot over slack on top of publicly available nutanix documentation under guidance of nutanix svp and an aws sde and deployed her solution on GCP.
Prior to that she worked on an academic ml project on a physical store e-commerce company customer data + customer churn problem.
Along with that she has done 5-6 projects all of them are on GitHub. Till now she also completed ~110 leet code questions.
She has done academic projects related to CV, NLP, ML, neural networks.
Her neural networks professor also suggested her to go for phd due to her knowledge and interest in a domain.
She wants to get more knowledge in the domain by doing real world projects. Hence looking for co-op/internships.
I would also say that she is not a stellar mle/ds right now but she has a desire and motivation to become one. Also she has stellar academics to back that up.
she is good for startups as well, she will be able to work properly even in covid times.
Please let me know if your team is hiring.

Second, data science jobs have dried up
Companies realized you don't need a masters grad. You pay a bachelors data analyst 70K/year to accomplish the same job.
Yes that's a valid point. The goal is to go far from data analyst thing and enter into engineering space by becoming machine learning engineer. She is good in understanding maths behind machine learning algorithms.
That is why she is focusing more and more on mle projects
Money is not goal right now but contributing to mle space.
