Posting on behalf of a friend -
My friend got an offer in Phoenix, and had relocated from San Francisco. 4th day. on the job she was called in to an office and was told she was being let go as it was not a good fit. My friend literally spend $$ moving, signing a new apartment lease, new furniture so it’s seem extremely cruel on their part. On top of that she was only given pay for the remaining week. I know severance is not an obligation but all this seems like a very trashy behavior.
They probably didn’t told her the real reason behind the lay off. What should she do in the situation.
Edit 1
Didn’t expect this post to get so much interest. Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
PS - if anyone is moving to Phoenix and wants to take over a studio lease in North Phoenix area please let me know lol you’ll be an angel.
