I was laid off along with a bunch of other employees and in order to get our severance, we had to sign an NDA saying we would not post on Blind or Glassdoor. We weren’t paid much so we all felt like we had no choice but to sign it 😕 Is this legal?

Google CFO confirms 'large-scale' layoffs (Apr 17)
And you posted on blind
Yeah. Like they have a way of enforcing that.
Are you real? Trolling us all here ?
What company?
DM me what you want to post. I will post it.
Not all hers wear capes
Some hers wear dresses
Blur out your name on the NDA and post it here. The company needs to be shamed and if many people were laid off they can't prove who posted it.
Do they actually list Blind in the non disclosure agreement or did they just tell you not to post on Blind?
It’s in the document.
Sounds like they would have to be big enough to worry about blind rep
You basically worked for bullies.
It's legal but incredibly stupid. It will probably motivate you guys even more to post on Blind and write GD reviews.
They could I suppose ask for any layoff package back. But OP will have already spent that at the bar. Plus he can sell all of the snacks and office supplies he stole compulsively his last week, but other than that unless he starts posting crazy threats I have no clue how they could shut him up. I mean obviously telling him not to do it certainly didn’t work. LOL.
Hard to enforce. The companies that lay people off dont have enough money to lawyer up and come after you. They have bigger problems that need exec focus.
Its confusing because they are hiring a lot more people and just got millions and funding.
Why are they laying people off if they don't have funding problems?
