FAANG alumni can’t even get interviews when re-apply several roles for the same company. Non regretted attrition ?

Jul 10, 2021 24 Comments

I worked at FAANG before and get promoted. Then I got a chance for a startup, then for about 1 month after the promotion I didn’t perform very actively and had some conflicts with team members since I was struggling whether leave or not(but some of the team members themself also have some communication issues). So they gave some negative feedbacks to my manager before my leave.
Then when I re-apply for several roles recently for the same company with internal referrals I didn’t even get interviews. Could it be for “non regretted attrition” or just because hiring managers got some bad impressions from those feedbacks ?
If it’s former how long will it affect ? If it’s latter is there anyway to fix ?
Or maybe anyone with similar situations could give some suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.

    • First i wasn’t “let go”, I left by myself for the startup and actually my manager was surprised at that time; second I’m not “throw shade”, I’m just trying to telling the truth.
      Anyway I changed the title.

Are you saying you re-applied to the same FAANG company? If so, it's possible. You should specify the actual company, as policy on this concept may differ between FAANG companies.

  • Alright, it’s Google.
If it’s NRA, how long will it affect ?
If it’s not NRA but because hiring manager saw those negative feedbacks, how much will it affect ? and anyway to fix ?
    Thanks.

I heard about someone who was set to restart a job at after quitting to have a few kids and raise them for a few years without work.

Her spouse also worked at G and quit - and her offer was revoked the next day and they never told her why.

Kinda scummy. Op, hope it works out for you, my best suggestion would be to ask a bunch of interviewers, or maybe reach out to some people you know there (maybe a manager with head count if possible?) And see if you can make something happen.
