Hey guys,
I received an offer from Amazon for L5 TPM (Toronto location). I was interviewed for L6 STPM but at the end of the interview process, they put me on L5. I have more than 20+ YOE and almost half of it is project/program management. Though I thought I did well at the interviews, maybe the Amazon interviewers didn't think the same.
So after about 5 months from the interviews, they are now offering a L5. They increased the TC by around 25K after negotiations.

TC: 215K CAD
Base: 145

Please let me know your opinion about this offer. Should I take it up and make a switch from a service based organization to a FAANG?

Thanks.

I would reject it. Amazon promos suck and you’re not going to see a huge diff in comp. 3 YOE get in as L5.

Shocking!! You have 20 YOE and going for L5. It’s a very junior role and people can get in 4-5 years of experience. You are going backward.

Not shocking at all. I left my underpaid position as Devops Lead and 2 direct reports to be a L5. Less responsibility and about 90K extra in my TC.
Im doing well, im sure soon I will catch up with a much higher salary
      15+ yoe

CrazyDave, while the offer is not great, it’s not too far off. Not knowing your situation, I’d consider taking it because L5 to L6 promotion is not difficult. You could probably achieve that within 1.5 years if you work hard for it.
