apple is immune. best in class product by a mile, cash for days, high margin, relatively smaller work force. no layoffs there

Amazon's sales will not drop significantly. Wishful thinking.

      Corporate ad spend though...

It's not wishful thinking to hope the economy goes into a recession but it is realistic thinking that it will happen. When the economy slows so does discretionary spending and yep advertising will slow too. The difference is retail margin is a handful for percent whereas advertising is 90%+. Advertising is what drives retail sales, they are very connected. Again, its not wishful thinking though. I don't want Amazon to shrink or want anyone to be laid off. Economy will have corrections though, plan for it. Both with recover.

It's funny because Amazon is the only company here that may actually layoff folks. A large low margin company has to adapt to economic changes far more than smaller high margin businesses. Yall don't think Amazon will sell less during a recession?

I agree with your elaborated point. My point above is that Amazon isn’t going to layoff across the board just because lower margin lines of business do poorly. They will continue to staff the products doing well and will cut back headcount for products that aren’t.

In short we agree with each other lol

Layoff? Amazon just needs to worry about tons of leaving what’s currently happening
