Leaving Amazon for SAP! Downgrading?
I am considering accepting an offer from SAP and leaving Amazon. Is it bad for my career?

I had a recruiter ask me once, “not to sound like I am bad mouthing you, but why did you go from “x” to eBay?” So yes, it would look bad. They might think you were fired and got the next best thing. I chose eBay for the role and my amazing manager. However, I’m leaving soon for something better.
First, it is not bad for your career if you have the right reasons. Some good reasons could be: Career Growth, better WLB, better commute, more alignment with your values/style :). Curious - What are your reasons?
OP won’t find better opportunities for career growth at SAP than they can find at Amazon. WLB, commute, etc are all possible reasons, but if OP is looking for career growth then he’s making a horrible decision!
