I hate software. I can't do this shit for the next 30 years. I'm at a point where I'll take a 50% paycut for some happiness. All of that money just goes into my investment account anyways, it's not increasing my quality of life. So what if my house isn't as big as it could be? Programming is my only marketable skill. Not sure what else I can do to make a living. I've worked my way up to a pretty high TC that it's hard to walk away from. I wish I never got into tech.

+1, did this before working in tech (I work in Ops and started as a contractor and worked my way up) and it’s great money plus a lot of fun if you work at the right bar/club. You meet all kinds of interesting people and have a lot of freedom. Just make sure you have good shoes.
