Leedcode and side projects
I am leetcoding and improving my algo and data structure. Should I also do side projects to build a mini clone of popular websites like Amazon, Twitter, Instagram app ect. Will that increase my chances getting interviews at good companies? Does this matter? Just checking if it show that you know how to build both frontend and backend.
It might help youself understand the end to end system design at a non-scale level, but that should be it if it’s just a prototype. I don’t think it’ll make you more competitive as a candidate imo
What will make more competitive?
I would build something interesting, get real users and see real usage/traffic.
Yes side projects do help, just build whatever your heart desires and show passion, there’s no formula.
No don't build clones but do build something that interests you maybe for a hobby or something
Or build a startup and get acquired.
Thanks.But, I dont think startups are that easy. Its requires more than just building a app or websites.
