Its serious situation. I solved LC on difficult topics like DP, Backtracking so much in the holidays that I woke up with disinterest, and fatigue. Recently I decided not to have a day without solving LC problems. I think I took it so hard. My mind does not allow me to watch or read fiction stories, as it reminds me that I may get the sense of guilty. What can I do now? I became a prisoner of my own prison. ;)
Interview with companies that you are not really interested about to prove yourself
There is a tradeoff here...If the experience doesn't go well, it can really bring you down. Sure you can also learn from the failures, but still...rejection can hurt and derail your confidence. Also, managing time is going to be hard. You would need to take time off to attend these practice onsites. People at work might notice. I'm speaking from experience. But I guess this is part of the grind.
And happy new year
Rest one or two days to recover, you may think is time non grinding, but your mind and will power will thank you in the long run, trust me
Looks like you’re seriously burnt out. Rest for a few days, recover and start slowly again. How many have you solved btw?
Dang take a whole month off
I've been there, locked in a room, didn't go out much and just LC and did interviews for 4 months. In the end, managed to double my TC. This is all part of the grind.
This!!
Alternatively, don’t grind on LC and double your TC anyway. Just get good at the common problems and selling your experience in interviews. Also, lean hard on your network for opportunities. Source: I got a verbal offer before Christmas
How long were you grinding LC for? What’s your motivation? Btw I am assuming you would have started doing really well on DP and backtracking by now any tips for someone just starting?
Thanks dude! I have gone through this already helps with the basics for some typical simple dp questions still having a hard time with LC hard and some medium questions not sure what’s the best way except trying to remember the approach.
Been there! Switch it up OP. Give your mind variety - we need it to stay sane. Change to behavioral only for a couple days. Ask someone around you to feed you questions. "Tell me about a time when x..." STAR type and think of an ideal answer. When you get bored with that, come back hitting leetcode harder than ever. Works like a charm 👍🏼
I took a month break after I did LC for a few months and it really helped me regain motivation. Paid off in the long run. 😊
Happy new year
