How common is this practice? I always thought phone screens are to weed out poor performers and evaluate them properly on-site. Phonescreens are more difficult for everyone, added pressure of one chance only, worse communication over phone than in person. What are the expectations from on-sites from these companies? Leetcode super-hard?
Easier questions if they like you
Uber phone screen : I received a Leetcode dp hard question last year. Messed it up :)
Got LC hard during LinkedIn phone screen.
Do you remember if it was Linkedin tagged problem? Thanks
I got LC hard on Wish phone screen, oh well.
Got a DP hard for Dropbox and regular hard for Palantir (intern). Doesn't happen often but you'll see them from time to time.
What was the dropbox question?
Leetcode hard for Facebook and Yelp phone screen
Recently had a google interview where it almost took him 10 min to explain the question. I think itโs harsh for a 45 min phone interview.
Was it all technical questions? any behavioral or resume stuff?
Yea, from min one some ice breakers and then coding problem
How common the practice is depends on whether you a white/asian male.
Leetcode hard for my Amazon internship oa
I got a DP leetcode med-hard for an Amazon Lab126 phone screen. I was pretty salty about that.
Wanted to join Lab126, it didn't work out for you?
I got a Leetcode hard question at Amazon as well, but still passed despite not getting a fully working solution that covered all cases. I don't think the interviewer was expecting me to solve it just wanted to see how I tried. On the other hand, asshole Google interviewer kwpt interrupting my train of thought on a Leetcode medium and then said I didn't get an optimal answer at the end and didn't pass me, likely for being "uncoachable" or some bullshit.
