Getting cold feet on vasectomy

So I told my wife I'll get it done and have it scheduled.

Now I'm getting afraid that I might end up with long term pain in my balls.

I never thought I'll reach this level of fear, it's sort of irrational since the doctor told it's going to be fine. I have never had surgery in my life.

For folks who have had vasectomy before, how did it go. Any issues with sex life post procedure?
