Apparently my initial phone interview a few months ago wasn’t the disaster I thought it was. I was dinged but the recruiter for the group contacted me for a similar L7 / located anywhere in USA position and noted the initial interviewer loved me, but didn’t think I was ideal for that role. I think I made it through the initial phone screen with the group’s manager and will be going on site soon. I guess I’m wondering what a job like this is really like. They told me it’s 50% WFH / 50% Travel, first 60 days you get AWS-SAA training + similar for the domain I’d be working on. That all sounds good, but: 1. Are these rolls fairly chill or the same grind and exposure to Amazon culture you read about on here? 2. what do non-coding L7 consultants get paid (assume in demand domain that is hard to hire)? 3. Whats the career path / next level? They’d want me to establish my niche then build out a group.
Proserve as an org compared to others *is* pretty chill. Its not ops. Ops is pretty hectic and can be the place you read about on blind. However L7 external consultant hires are expected to bring a lot to the table. You'll need be able to do strategy and vision for your client base, have technical aptitude, and be able to lead a team. The bar is high, but if you made it this far sounds like you have a shot. As an org, we in proserve are growing rapidly at such a pace there are roles that are created for people to internally transfer into so I dont think you'll need to worry about growth path
Lol you think it’s going to be chill?
That’s why I’m asking. Is all of Amazon the hellscape of bananas you all whine about or are these high’ish level customer facing roles a bit more easy street?
