LinkedIn Business Operations Associate Role Compensation-Base+RSUs

Does anyone happen to know what the compensation is for the LinkedIn BizOps Associate role-Base, RSUs, Relocation, and Sign On? This is their internal strategy team embedded in various lines of business. I had created a post, but the person who responded deleted their replies so I don’t know if the information they were providing was inaccurate or whether they were just afraid of outing themselves. I’m moving to the on-site phase, but I want to make sure we’re in alignment before investing further time. The recruiter has given me a range for a base of 95K-115K. She hasn’t specified how salary is determined and is unwilling to provide further information on where I would fall. She says it’s dependent on interview performance, but that concept doesn’t make sense to me. If the consensus is that someone performed poorly, then why make the offer. Usually I’m provided much tighter ranges by recruiting. If anyone who interviewed for the team or received an offer could provide insight it would be much appreciated. Additionally, should anyone know what the target is for RSUs that would be much appreciated. I’m interviewing for a similar role at Google and they pay 25K in RSUs a year. For this particular role LinkedIn Salary states that the average RSU award is 30.5K per year. Glassdoor states 25K. But I don’t know how accurate these figures are. Thanks for the help!

How many years of experience do you have?

2 years of experience in management consulting out of undergrad. It’s the standard Business Operations Associate role. The Senior Business Operations Associate is for those with 5 or more years of experience and has its own separate salary band.

2 years only? Don't expect to be making >100k base. Expect recruiter to low-ball you at 95K.

Hmmm. Very interesting that they would pay the lower end of the range. That’s under market then. And that would mean that a lot of people coming from consulting are taking a pay cut to work in this BizOps role. I would say that these roles typically start in the 110K-130K range for a base even when companies provide RSUs. I am interviewing for another company that is offering a base of 135K+ RSUs, but this is a smaller, albeit, public company in the medical supply space.

You're just 2 years out of undergrad... MBB doesn't even pay >100k unless you're out of business school. If you were an engineer you'd get paid 110-130, not associate biz ops

Slight correction: MBB is above 100k right out of school and over 200k in year 3

If you meet the minimum performance bar for the role, it’s $95k. If you’re a stellar hire and they think you have potential to make it to senior fast, then it’s closer to $115k. That’s how your interview performance comes into play. $100k in equity over 4 years was pretty standard, but they’re lowering the numbers in recent years. Relocation depends where you’re moving from, but ranges from $5k to $15k. Sign on is about $10k from what I remember.

Okay. Good to know. I will recalibrate my expectations to around 40K-60K in equity over 4 years. Thanks for the info on performance as it relates to base, sign on, and relocation. Were you in a non-technical role at LinkedIn?

Netflix Az2H91 Nov 21, 2018

Recalibration to 70k - 80k over 4 years is more realistic, I think. Happy to answer more questions if you want to message me. Won’t talk about what I used to do at LinkedIn - too revealing.

Hey! Netflix seems to be on the mark - mainly due to associates have anywhere from 2-4 years of experience. You’ll start around 100-110k assuming the fact that you’re at least competent. Equity will be 20-25k a year. Annual bonus is 10% for associates. All in comp will be 140k. Don’t forget the 401k match of 9.5k free a year, 2k bonus fun stipend, 100% covered med+dental+eye insurance.

Negotiating the higher end of a salary range requires knowing your worth. There is a very strategic way to negotiate this, it’s what you say about the results you had a previous companies, that you can also bring to your new employer. Have you though about this?
